Este podcast es un espacio donde hablamos directamente con los profesionales sobre cómo brindan atención a los niños y familias vulnerables de todo el mundo.

En Family for Every Child somos una red de 40 organizaciones locales de la sociedad civil que trabajan sobre el terreno en 36 países, y estas organizaciones tienen un gran conocimiento y experiencia de años de trabajo con niños y comunidades para desarrollar soluciones para mejorar el cuidado de los niños.

En este podcast, hablamos con CONACMI sobre la atención a los niños durante la pandemia en Guatemala y sobre cómo la organización necesitaba adaptarse, evolucionar y reinventarse para brindar servicios humanitarios muy necesarios a los grupos más vulnerables de la sociedad, y cómo la sociedad civil está llenando el vacío de atención y protección que el gobierno no ha podido brindar durante estos tiempos de incertidumbre.

CONACMI trabaja en Guatemala, con un enfoque en la prevención de la violencia contra la niñez y la juventud; particularmente abuso sexual. A través de la provisión de servicios de apoyo directo, el fortalecimiento de las respuestas de las instituciones y la investigación sobre la violencia intergeneracional, CONACMI trabaja para mantener a las generaciones futuras protegidas del abuso, mientras brinda a las víctimas ayuda práctica para superar su trauma. Su trabajo también pone un gran enfoque en trabajar con comunidades y familias que se encuentran en situaciones de violencia y prevenir el embarazo adolescente; Su trabajo ha permitido reducir el número de niñas y mujeres jóvenes que quedan embarazadas.

At Family for Every Child we are a network of 40 local civil society organisations working on the ground in 36 countries, and these organisations have a wealth of knowledge and experience from years of working with children and communities to develop solutions to improve children’s care.
In this podcast, we talk to CONACMI about providing care to children during the pandemic in Guatemala and in how the organisation needed to adapt, evolve and re-invent itself to provide much needed humanitarian services to the most vulnerable groups in society, and how the civil society is filling the gap in care and protection that government hasn´t been able to provide during this uncertainty times.

CONACMI works in Guatemala, with a focus on the prevention of violence against children and young people; particularly sexual abuse. Through the provision of direct support services, strengthening the responses of institutions, and research into cross-generational violence,CONACMI works to keep future generations protected from abuse, whilst giving victims practical help to overcome their trauma. Its work also places a large focus on working with communities and families who are in violent situations, and preventing teenage pregnancy; its work has brought about the reduction of girls and young women becoming pregnant
