There is seemingly no detail too small for big-budget movies to get right–except bartending, that is. While lots of films depict bartenders at work, few of them get the details correct. On this episode of Fix Me a Drink, award-winning hosts David Wondrich and Noah Rothbaum discuss the history of bartending on film while enjoying classic Moscow Mules–a drink that was actually created in Los Angeles. They are joined by expert bartenders and raconteurs Jeffrey Morgenthaler, who runs the bar Pacific Standard in Portland, Oregon, and Eric Alperin from the famed L.A. bar the Varnish. Cheers! The Moscow Mule Contributed by David Wondrich INGREDIENTS 2 oz Vodka Juice of half a lime Ginger beer Glass: Tall glass or copper mug Garnish: Lime half DIRECTIONS Squeeze the lime half into a tall glass or copper mug. Add the vodka, fill with ice and top with ginger beer. Garnish the drink with the spent lime half. Fix Me a Drink is hosted by Flaviar’s resident liquor experts Noah Rothbaum and David Wondrich. On each episode, the award-winning duo enjoys a delicious drink while uncovering lost liquor history, exploring modern cocktail culture and interviewing an incredible array of spirited guests. So fix yourself a drink and enjoy the show! Please drink responsibly. Podcast Editor Alex Skjong
