Jaime Smith gave us an insider's look at what goes on in a professional kitchen. The head chef barks out instructions to the cooks who repeat the order back to him or her, just like Rosemary had seen on TV. He described the challenge of juggling several orders at one time, trying to time things right to hit eleven minutes from fire to server. For him this year, thanksgiving dinner will be lobster by the pool for two, just like the pilgrims did it.
Susan O'Connor-Fraser joined us in the studio. She is the president of Think Local First Santa Cruz. She shared many ideas for supporting local businesses during the holidays.
