I wouldn’t be who I am without the female influence of Whoopi Goldberg (Miss Celie), Oprah Winfrey (Miss Sophia), and Margaret Avery (Shug Avery), but I didn’t realize, until recently, just how deeply their influence shows up in my everyday life.
