People hate being sold to. Avoiding spam messages that contain all the sales pitches you can think of is the best you can do because people can already smell what you are up to even before you get near them.

Besides, we set ourselves up for rejection if we start off on the wrong foot and the quickest way to get prospects out of sight is to bombard them with information before establishing relationships.

There is a tendency for us to make mistakes, muddle things up, and not do things in a smart way.
