This week, I’m joining you from home! After a long five-month travel experience, I’ve finally landed in Texas. Returning home after so long had me reflecting and thinking how presently, I’m enjoying my life so much. I realized that’s because, at this current time, I’m my most authentic self. But it hasn’t always been this way. I wasn’t always the person that I am now, in fact, I was far from it.
In this episode I discuss:
- Becoming someone else during my marriage;
- Expectations from society in regard to being a mother and wife;
- Presenting perfection;
- Losing myself to material, external things;
- Making sure everything looked perfect from the outside;
- Figuring out that my lifestyle wasn’t aligning with my true self;
- People pleasing;
- My moment of realization;
- Rediscovering myself;
- Redefining my style
- Self-acceptance;
- Balancing empathy and kindness with living life my way
It’s not easy to come to the realization that you’ve been living a life based on someone else’s terms. The process of rediscovering yourself and your style is full of ups and downs. It may take some time to figure out who you are, but the reward of living authentically makes the journey worth it because you get to live life for yourself!
