The death of a pilot triggers an emergency landing in New York. Turkish Airlines officials say one of their pilots lost consciousness and died during a flight from Seattle to Istanbul this morning. Tracking from Flight-Aware shows the Airbus A350 making an extreme turn after the co-pilot decided on an emergency landing at New York's J-F-K. There are no injuries reported to passengers or crew. Turkish Airlines says the 59-year-old captain had a routine health check in March, and it showed no problems that would have prevented him from working. He'd worked for the airline since 2007.
