There's lots going on with the Olympics in Paris, plus, college football starts soon and more are part of the newest "Last Word on Sports Media" podcast.
Host T.J. Rives returns to give his takes and insight and he has guests.
First, T.J. has thoughts on the amazing ruling by the civil court judge in California who vacated the jury damages award against the NFL for the "Sunday Ticket" lawsuit. What happened here and has the NFL truly won the case that they were not overcharging customers for the Sunday Ticket coverage of all the teams, all these years? It's hard to figure out.
Next, he welcomes guests Dave Woloshin of Memphis Sports radio station WHBQ and the voice of the Memphis Tigers college football and basketball, and also, Jason Powers of the "Powers on Sports Podcast" out of Tampa Bay to go over both the Olympics and college football looming.
NBC's ratings are soaring and the words "live coverage" are a big reason why. It's discussed. Plus, what announcers are underrated on their calls of their sports? And, there's debate on just how much should we blame track play by play announcer Leigh Diffey of NBC for blowing the 100 meter men's final call with not waiting and calling, incorrectly, the Jamacian runner to beat American Noah Lyles, who actually barely won the gold?
The guys also talk pre-season college football polls and has their value completely evaporated and what about new Chargers NFL coach Jim Harbaugh's press statements continuing to deny any knowledge, much less involvement, in the Michigan college "sign stealing scandal" of 2023?
Hear it all on the "Last Word on Sports Media Podcast" and make sure to follow/subscribe on Apple/sSpreaker/Spotify, etc.!
