Gratitude is a gift from God. Gratitude is more than a good character trait; it is a powerful force that can transform your life.

1. Living a life of gratitude is a step into the will of God.

1 Thessalonians 5:18 (KJV 1900). In everything give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you.

2. Gratitude is part of a renewed life.

Ephesians 5:1 (ESV)Therefore be imitators of God, as beloved children.

Ephesians 5:4 (ESV)Let there be no filthiness nor foolish talk nor crude joking, which are out of place, but instead let there be thanksgiving.

3. Gratitude reminds me that God is in control.

Philippians 4:6–7 (ESV)do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. 7And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.

4. Gratitude keeps me focused on God’s goodness.

Psalm 100:4–5 (ESV)Enter his gates with thanksgiving, and his courts with praise! Give thanks to him; bless his name! 5For the Lord is good; his steadfast love endures forever, and his faithfulness to all generations.
