The Philadelphia Phillies lost to the Diamondbacks 3-2 on a walkoff homer by rookie Adrian Del Castillo in the bottom of the 9th!

Zack Wheeler started for the Phillies, and tossed 6 inning allowing just 2 runs, but did not get the support his pitching deserved. D-Backs’ starter Ryne Nelson did a great job throughout the game of keeping the Phillies off balance. He held the Phils to just 3 hits over 7.1 innings and issued just one walk.

The Phillies did show some late life in the game. Nick Castellanos drew Nelson’s only walk with 1 out in the 8th inning. Arizona then went to reliever AJ Puk, who surrendered a game-tying RBI double to Johan Rojas.

The life was short lived as Jeff Hoffman threw just one pitch in the bottom of the 9th and it ended up 416ft away from home plate and into the right field stands, off the bat of Del Castillo.
