As a business owner considering the sale of your business you should be thinking ahead about the tax ramifications of a sale. About 10 years ago I was selling a trucking company and I won't repeat the words that came out of the mouth of the owner when he found out that Uncle Sam was going to take over $6 M of his hard-earned money.
