A Canadian woman has been discovered deceased at a Mexican resort where she was commemorating her birthday alongside her boyfriend, a hockey player, who has reportedly been apprehended in relation to her death.
Kiara Agnew, a 23-year-old bank employee from British Columbia, was found lifeless at the Grand Sunset Princess Resort in Playa del Carmen, situated south of Cancun, last week.
Ms. Agnew was on this celebratory trip with her boyfriend, Ryan Friesen, 26, who plays hockey for the Dawson Creek Canucks.
The Secretariat of Public Security in Solidaridad has announced the detention of an individual of foreign nationality for the potential crime of homicide, following the discovery of a deceased woman exhibiting possible signs of violence in a hotel located in the Xcalacoco area. A police statement included an image of the suspect with a blurred face.
Update ! Ex Boyfriend was not charged.
