Dr Nick Cheesman, Fellow in the Department of Political and Social Change at the Australian National University, discusses his views on how to best understand torture, torturers and torture survivors with intellectual honesty. Nick has spent years reading and analysing torture testimonies from neighbouring Thailand and Myanmar.
