J.R.R. Tolkien, the author of The Lord of the Rings, was deeply connected to Christmas. He popularized the figure of Santa Claus by creating a series of letters for his children and signing them "Father Christmas." In these letters, he recounted his exploits at the North Pole, including battles against goblins riding bats who stole presents and the mischief of his assistant, the North Polar Bear, who once accidentally set all the Northern Lights ablaze.
