MonsterHitMusic is in 2000 ontstaan als MonsterHitsFM. Het voorstel voor dit radiostation ontstond begin 1999 toen veilingen voor FM-frequenties de commerciële radio een belangrijk voordeel gaven. Helaas hebben we nooit een FM-frequentie gekregen. In plaats daarvan opereren we als een web-/internetradiostation - een van de oudste nog bestaande stations in Nederland.
In 1997 hadden MonsterHitsFM en MonsterHitMusic al een webradio. Een Canadees bedrijf bood destijds de kans om een stream te maken die op hun portaal te horen was. Hiervoor gebruikten we een van de eerste kabelmodems in Nederland.
In the early days, the focus was on music from the 90s and 00s. The first decade of MonsterHitMusic's existence saw some great changes in the world of pop music. From Britney Spears to Lady Gaga, we've played it all. In recent years, we've shifted our focus to current hits and MonsterHitMusic has become the go-to source for the latest pop music.
