On this episode of Real Talk Radio, I’m joined by Alexandrea Drake, Assistant Director of Residential Living at Piedmont University, for a deep and thought-provoking conversation about the education system, life preparation, and generational shifts in values.

We start by questioning the current high school system—its purpose and whether it truly prepares students for life. From there, we explore what it means to prepare for college: taking your time to discover your path, choosing the right school for your goals, and avoiding societal pressures to rush the process.

Drawing from our experiences—Alexandrea, born in the early ‘90s, and me, born in ’99—we reflect on the generational differences in how we view success, income, and the so-called American Dream. Is it still attainable, or has society's definition changed over time?

We also tackle a critical question: why can’t people simply take what they need to live comfortably? This leads to a discussion about the mindset surrounding the value of a dollar, the differences between blue-collar work and modern income streams like content creation, and how each generation adapts to economic challenges.

This episode is a must-listen for anyone grappling with questions about education, success, and societal evolution.
