They share important lessons from their interdisciplinary work with refugee shelters in Germany over the last four years. The siblings co-founded the award-winning, Berlin-based non-profit organization R3SOLUTE with a mission to equip refugees in shelters and their local neighbor citizens with peer mediation-based alternative dispute resolution and mental health literacy skills. In this multidisciplinary bottom-up approach, termed psychosocial peer mediation (PPM), participants learn to effectively manage and prevent conflicts in their own communities and neighborhoods. The founders provide practical insights and best practices, with a focus on addressing existing challenges and opportunities in the field.
