In this podcast. I&`&m gonna help you to learn some Chinese slangs which are often used in our daily life, and this is my first episode.
We know there&`&re lots of daily Chinese expressions that you could never see them on a book, but actually our Chinese use them very frequently in daily talk. If you could master these expressions, your Chinese will definetly be more authentic.
So, today we are gonna learn an very easy and popular character“土豪”，“土豪”.
土豪 is an adjective which is usually used to describe a sort of people who are very rich and buy almost everything at their pleases，土豪通常花钱都很大手大脚啊，很高端的手机，之类的, 土 就是俗气的意思，means vulgar and secular, and 豪 象征着一个人非常有钱 is the person of extraordinary powers or endowment. 豪 is also a respective of wealth. So, generally speaking， 土豪 usually buy expensive goods or even luxuries without thinking because they don&`&t care how much they would spend. They have a lot of money.
举个例子，比如说 Donald John Trump, the presidential candidate, 他就是一个大土豪，因为他真的超级有钱……
当然，我们也可以说自己身边的某一个朋友是土豪，比如说Tom最近买了mac book……
Well, sometimes we use 土豪 as a derogatory term. Someone who buys a lot of expensive things such as Gucci purse, Chanel makeup or Patek Philippe watch. Besides that, they like to show off, I mean, how bad are them~ I don&`&t like people who always flaunt, anyway~ But sometimes young people may use the word 土豪 to make fun of intimate friends who bought a good stuff recently, you know, at this kind of circumstance, people are not secious; it just a joke. So actually, 土豪 can be both positive and negetive; it&`&s really depends on the situation. By the way, don&`&t use it in your writing because it&`&s just a oral expression~
