In this episode, we are joined by Dr Mia Perry from the School of Education at the University of Glasgow.

Dr Perry is a Senior Lecturer in Literacies and Arts Education for Sustainability whose work in education spans school, community, public, and digital contexts.

We discuss the meaning of literacies in the context of a diverse and multiversal world where the notion of universal literacy is critically questioned. We explore the ways literacies in the 'schooled' education system make meaning of the world and how we can come to recognise that literacy is inseparable from policy and practices of sustainability and equity – at local and international levels.
