It can be really tough to not get frustrated with our kids - especially when they're being frustrating! The best dads, however, know how torecognize when they're getting triggered and adjust their reaction accordingly.

There's a big difference between being frustrated and being triggered. Frustration is a normal emotion that we all experience from time to time. But when we're triggered, it means that we're reacting to something in an emotional way that's out of proportion to the situation.

For example, you might get frustrated with your child for leaving their toys out in the living room. But if you find yourself yelling at them, then you know you've been triggered.

It's important to learn how to deal with our triggers in a healthy way. Recognizing when we're getting triggered is the first step. Once we know that, we can start to take steps to diffuse the situation before it gets out of hand.
