How can the South West achieve its goal of reaching net zero by 2050? What role does sustainable infrastructure play? And what are nature-based solutions?

All these questions and more are answered in the third episode of the Beyond Brunel podcast, titled “Climate Change & Net Zero”.

In this episode, presenter Chris Ackland is joined by Megan Pearce, Climate Change Consultant at the Met Office, Stephen Beggs, Director at Curtins and ICE South West Carbon Representative, Deborah Greaves, Professor of Ocean Engineering and Director of the Coast Laboratory at the University of Plymouth, and David Symons, Future Ready Innovation Leader at WSP and SocEnv's Environmental Professional of the Year 2020.

The panel discuss the importance of collaboration and innovation in achieving sustainable infrastructure solutions, as well as the need for flexibility and adaptability in design. They explore the role of renewable energy and the need to reduce carbon emissions in construction.
