In the second episode of "Days Out in Carlow," Eimear Ní Bhraonáin continues her exploration of County Carlow. Her first stop is the breathtaking Altamont Gardens near Ballon, where she meets Robert Miller, owner of the on-site Altamont Plant Sales. Together, they explore the gardens' seasonal beauty and discover what makes this horticultural haven a year-round attraction for nature and garden lovers.
Eimear then travels to Bagenalstown to experience the scenic beauty of the River Barrow aboard An Bád Keppel, a community-driven boat tour led by Paddy Gardiner. This tranquil journey offers a perfect blend of summer sunshine and stunning river views. To conclude her adventure, Eimear visits the ecclesiastical village of St. Mullins, dating to the sixth century, which nestles between the River Barrow Valley and Mount Brandon in south Carlow.
