Fabian has been a mainstay in the Ethereum ecosystem, having previously worked at the Ethereum Foundation and having built foundational products and libraries such as the Mist Browser, Ethereum Wallet, and web3js. In 2015 he proposed the ERC-20 token standard, which became the foundation for the "token economy" boom.
