For the first time in U.S. history, a former president is facing federal charges. On Tuesday, June 13, Donald Trump was arrested, booked and arraigned in Miami. He pleaded not guilty to 37 felony counts related to his alleged mishandling of classified documents, including 31 counts of willful retention of national defense information. This is, yet, another unprecedented event involving the former president, which is triggering more political and social divisions. It's almost enough to make even the strongest optimist falter, BUT there is someone serving in congress who is still a beacon of hope, decency and humility. Congressman Andy Kim of New Jersey is an accidental politician who felt compelled to run for office in 2018 because he feared the country was losing hope and decency. Rep. Kim doesn't just talk the talk, he walks the walk as a true public servant and patriot. Remember the images of a politician picking up trash and debris after the U.S. Capitol insurrection? That was Congressman Andy Kim, so who better to talk to when the country is facing another monumental juncture.
