在文学作品的传播中，翻译是不可或缺的一环，然而与诸多姓名如雷贯耳的作家不同，译者往往是隐形的。有的翻译或许是一种语言到另一种语言简单的对应，然而本期节目嘉宾德语译者姜乙认为，文学翻译是跟作品、作家、以及原文语言的一种超乎寻常的亲近。
姜乙本科期间学习的方向是歌剧演唱，现在也并不是一位全职译者，她是一个慢性子的人，一篇全文仅五万字左右的《悉达多》就花费了她一年的时间进行翻译，因为她需要不断地思考与改进，这是她与作品之间的“对抗”，也是她认为翻译的乐趣所在。在本期节目中，她将与主播李志明聊聊她眼中的翻译和她眼中的黑塞。
