While attending a family reunion in early 2012, Gary Stocker's brother brought a temporary net, and some wooden paddles and taught the family how to play pickleball. Gary was immediately hooked and has been playing ever since. With a background in higher education research through his work as a College Viability Consultant, he knew that college pickleball would be on the rise and built his organization and website - US Collegiate Pickleball. We discuss the current state of pickleball for youth and college students and what we might see in the coming years for college clubs, teams, and tournament play.
