Episode 18 of the Steelers Sanctuary Podcast is out. Dave is in Maryland at his son’s baseball tournament so Ron Lippock joins us once again. We start the podcast with the news of a Cole Holcomb contract restructure. This has fueled speculation that the $3.5 million the Steelers will be saving on this restructure is in part to help fit Brandon Aiyuk in via a trade. We’re not convinced of that, but what this does mean is that Holcomb will remain a Steeler for the rest of the season.
Next we discuss the Steelers continued insistence to keep Dan Moore as the starting left tackle over Broderick Jones. Not only that, but Nate Herbig is starting over Zach Frazier at center despite his lack of familiarity with the position. The reluctance to start young players on the offensive line has become quite annoying.
