Welcome to the 'Bakery Bears Radio Show' Episode 109

As the new millennium dawned 24 years ago, Russel Crowe & Ridley Scott released one of the most spectacular historical movies ever made, or was it? In this episode of the Radio Show we discuss Gladiator and its links to the real history of Rome. We talk about special effects in movies, film soundtracks, what we loved and what we didn't about this classic movie. Finally we discuss our hopes for Gladiator II due out in November.

Join Kay & Dan as they:

  • Welcome you to a summer walk and Dan’s fly problems

  • Discuss watching Gladiator for the first time in years

  • Kay shares with you why the story appealed to her so much

  • Dan talks about what he loved about the film when he first saw it

  • Give a synopsis of the films story and share with you some of their favourite moments

  • Talk about some of their favourite characters in the story

  • Discuss how Rome itself was formed and the impact it has had on the modern world

  • Talk about special effects in movies and how things have changed over the years

  • Discuss the soundtrack and talk you through some of the highlights

  • Look at the real story of Commudus and considers what might happen in Gladiator II

We'll see you soon with our next Radio Show!
