The series poked fun at the tropes and clichés of comic books, the publishers, the creators, and the fandom. It was a satire, a parody, a deconstruction of the medium itself. All while being extremely funny and entertaining. It was and continues to be one of the most important and innovative series in comics history. Hyperbole you say?
