Wedding photography is such a multifaceted pursuit. You have the creative side which probably is what brought you into photography in the first palace and the attempt at refining your own skills and pushing yourself to excellence in that real but you also have the necessary task of fostering a real-life business. And for many including myself, this is when things start to get scary. Contracts and fancy language, numbers, and accounting - all this stuff many of never had the change to formally study - we have to learn on our own. Which is why this week's episode is so special to me. We have the amazing opportunity to hear from Keeley McKay, a wedding photographer based out of Bozeman, Montana who is also a full-time small business attorney! Something I really loved about Keeley was her ability to make the law talk less scary and I felt afterward that I had a little more motivation in this realm to start asking the scary questions and finding real answers! One note to make is Keeley is based out of Montana and I am from California and so this interview is more of a how to get started with thinking about law and photography than anything else.
