Welcome to Episode Fifty Three (Season Three) of the Executive Career Jump Podcast with your host, Andrew MacAskill!
Our guest in the hot seat today is Gabi Preston-Phypers, who is someone who doesn’t colour between the lines.
She is a proud dyslexic, mother, wife, and owner of multiple businesses.
Gabi loves empowering people to get in the driving seat of their lives, believing that no one should ever be a passenger in their life journey. From a very young age, she wanted to make a difference.
Her career started in Banking where she stayed for 7 years before moving into the world of new startups - however, she quickly realised that she wasn’t able to influence the change she wanted to.
So in 2020 she finally agreed to join the family recruitment business Oscar Harrington, specialising in mobile robotics. Shortly after joining the team, she noticed they had a gap in their tech stack that could not be resolved by other providers so they got building and soon unleashed Tooled Up Raccoons into the market to help other recruiters sourcing.
In this episode you will discover:

  • What boolean searching is and how it can help you find the right role
  • Why if you have dyslexia or any other form of disability you owe it to yourself to be honest about it in your job search and workplace
  • How a video message, as opposed to an email, can work brilliantly in opening doors
  • Why focusing on what we are good at makes us stronger
  • The pro’s and con’s of working with your partner and why boundaries are important
