Setting boundaries can be a powerful tool for improving our relationships with others and our mental health. Boundaries allow us to communicate our needs and limits and to protect ourselves from harmful behavior. We may feel overwhelmed, resentful, or taken advantage of without boundaries.
Usually, when we think of setting boundaries, it's about protecting ourselves. We will not allow others to dictate our flow when we stand up for ourselves. Boundaries are needed because people will try to run over or manipulate you whenever possible.
