On the latest edition of "The Kaptain's Table," we talk to Alfred "Butch" Lee Jr., a former professional basketball player and coach from Puerto Rico. Lee is widely regarded as one of the greatest players in Puerto Rican basketball history and is considered a pioneer for his success as a Latino athlete in the United States.

Lee attended Marquette University in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, where he was a standout player for the Marquette Golden Eagles men's basketball team. He helped lead the team to the NCAA championship in 1977 and was named the tournament's Most Outstanding Player. He was also a two-time All-American during his college career.

In 1978, Lee was drafted by the Atlanta Hawks in the first round of the NBA draft. He played for the Hawks, the Cleveland Cavaliers, and the Los Angeles Lakers during his NBA career, which spanned from 1978 to 1982. He also played professionally in Spain and Italy before retiring from playing in 1988.

After his playing career, Lee went on to become a successful coach. He coached at several colleges, including Northeastern University and Pennsylvania State University, before returning to his alma mater, Marquette, in 1996 to become an assistant coach. He was later named the head coach at Marquette in 1997, where he served until 2001.

Throughout his career, Lee has been a trailblazer for Latino athletes and has been recognized for his contributions to basketball both on and off the court. He was inducted into the Puerto Rican Sports Hall of Fame in 1991 and the Wisconsin Athletic Hall of Fame in 2009.
