⁠पिछले अंक⁠ में बात की थी बच्चन बाबू के अपने एक कॉमिक से परिचय की और कुछ हल्की-फुलकी बातें उनके इलाहाबाद विश्वविद्यालय में लेक्चरर वाले दिनों की। आज एक चर्चा जीवन की क्षण भंगुरता पर, और कुछ बातें कविता के आभूषण अलंकारों पर। क्षीण, क्षुद्र, क्षणभंगुर, दुर्बल मानव मिटटी का प्याला,

भरी हुई है जिसके अंदर कटु-मधु जीवन की हाला,

मृत्यु बनी है निर्दय साकी अपने शत-शत कर फैला,

काल प्रबल है पीनेवाला, संसृति है यह मधुशाला (७३)

And

प्याले सा गढ़ हमें किसी ने भर दी जीवन की हाला,

नशा न भाया, ढाला हमने ले लेकर मधु का प्याला,

जब जीवन का दर्द उभरता उसे दबाते प्याले से,

जगती के पहले, साकी से, जूझ रही है मधुशाला (७४)
