Hour 1: The NFL Draft has come and gone and the Steelers have received rave reviews across the board. What do we think of the class?

South Dakota State head football coach Jimmy Rogers joined the show. Jimmy gave us the rundown on Mason McCormick, one of the newest Steelers as of this weekend. He said Mason is not only among the best offensive lineman in program history, but also one of the best in FCS history. He talked up Mason sticking around South Dakota State when he probably could have taken a nice NIL deal and moved up to an FBS program. The guys asked about Mason being described as the “meanest nice guy” by some scouts. He described the scene of the Mason draft party this past weekend. Jimmy said Mason is at his best when it comes to running the football and described him as a transformative leader.

North Carolina State defensive coordinator Tony Gibson joined the show. Tony coached Payton Wilson for multiple years at NC State and doesn’t understand why scouts think Wilson will only play for one contract in the league. Tony said in about 30 years of coaching he’s never had a guy like Wilson have a combination of every good trait. Tony told us to watch the NC State-Clemson game to see Payton at his best, but said there really isn’t a bad game you will find. He said Payton has a great wrestling background, which helps various aspects on the football field. Tony couldn’t believe Payton fell all the way to 98th overall.
