The original "W", better known as the WBL, the Women's Basketball League, played it's first game in Minneapolis in front of more than 8.000 people featuring the Chicago Hustle and the Milwaukee Does. There we're numerous more attempts to try and form professional women's basketball leagues but the two most successful after the WBL we're the ABL and of course, the WNBA.
