Dua and Afroze highlight a message that they’ve always stood by, that w woman’s divorce does not define her, but it certainly shows that a woman worth does not entail the tolerance of emotionally and/or physically abusive marriages. Areej’s story embodies just that as well as how Islam can be weaponized in order to control a woman in a marriage.
