Good morning, Atlanta! This is your weather update for New Year's Day, bringing you the chilly yet crisp forecast that'll have you reaching for that cozy sweater.
Let's dive right in! We're looking at a partly sunny day that'll gradually turn into a full-on sunshine spectacular. Expect temperatures climbing to a cool 52 degrees Fahrenheit. Those northwest winds will be dancing around 10 to 15 miles per hour, with some playful gusts up to 20 miles per hour - so maybe hold onto your hat!
Tonight, get ready for widespread frost after 2 in the morning. We're talking a clear sky with temperatures dipping down to a brisk 30 degrees Fahrenheit. Those northwest winds will be taking it easy, barely whispering at around 5 miles per hour.
Looking ahead to Thursday, we'll see widespread frost before 10 in the morning, but then hello sunshine! We'll warm up to about 50 degrees Fahrenheit with light northwest winds.
The weekend starts off chilly with sunny skies on Saturday, topping out near 42 degrees Fahrenheit. Sunday brings a slight chance of showers after 1 in the afternoon, with temperatures reaching around 48 degrees Fahrenheit.
By Monday, we're looking at a 50 percent chance of showers and temperatures hovering around 50 degrees Fahrenheit.
