大家好，我是永清，这里是为你读英语美文，刚才我为你读的是《指环王》主题曲May It Be的歌词，尽管听过无数遍，这首歌还是能带给我很多力量，所以想要和你分享。

如果你最近持有基金或者股票，一定在经历着跌跌不休的至暗时刻。如果你在准备高考，考研或者重要且艰难的考试，一定在经历着身心的煎熬。如果你正在经历疾病，一定在承受着“人间不值得”的痛苦。

巴菲特说他凭着信念赚到了钱，这个信念是对所持标的的信念，是对国家会不断向好的信念。我准备过高考，我非常清楚地知道在一次次模考中跌倒又爬起来，爬起来再跌倒，不断摸索经验和学习的过程，最后我考出了自己的最好成绩。我经历过流感，也经历过急性阑尾炎，非常清楚地知道病来如山倒的痛苦，最后经过医生的精心治疗，疾病结束，我更加懂得了“平常和健康的可贵”。

当我们深处痛苦之中时，就好像Frodo在摧毁魔戒的路上，经历了重重困难和折磨，我们也会和Frodo一样，会害怕，会退缩，也会想要放弃，但正如Sam对Frodo说的：

“I know. It's all wrong. By rights, we shouldn't even be here. But we are here. It's like in the great stories, Mr. Frodo. The one's that really mattered, full of darkness and danger they were. And sometimes you didn't want to know the end… Because how could the end be happy? How could the world go back to the way it was...When so much bad had happened? But in the end, it's only a passing thing...this shadow. Even darkness must pass. A new day will come. And when the sun shines, it will shine out there clearer. Those were the stories that stayed with you… that meant something. Even if you were too small to understand why. But I think Mr. Frodo, I do understand. I know now. Folk in those stories had lots of chances of turning back, only they didn't. They kept going... because they were holding on to something. That there's some good in this world, Mr. Frodo. And it's worth fighting for.

我知道。这不公平。我们本来就不该来。但是我们来了。这就像我们听过的精彩故事，歌颂伟大的事迹，充满了黑暗和危险。有时你不想知道结局。因为怎么可能有快乐结局？发生这么多可怕的事情，这世界怎么可能回到从前？但是最后可怕的阴影，终究会消失。就连黑暗也会消失。崭新的一天将会来临。太阳也会散发更明亮的光芒。这才是让人永生难忘，意义非凡的感人故事。纵使你太年轻不明白为什么，但是我想我明白了。我现在明白了。这些故事里的主角有很多机会半途而废，但是他们并没有。他们决定勇往直前，因为他们抱着一种信念。这世上一定存在着善良，值得我们奋战到底。”

愿我们心中的信念如暮色之星，照耀着我们，坚持下去。相信黑夜终将过去，黎明终会到来。
