核醫學會表示，氚元素的生物半衰期約為10天，大部分以水的形態存在，在生物體內會透過代謝排出體外，目前科學證據認為在人體內並無積累或濃縮；以風險係數而言，氚對人體的影響低微。對於海洋水產品以至於海鹽，以目前證據顯示，其存在的濃度是極低的，日常食用無須擔心健康危害。
