Artificial intelligence is evolving at an unprecedented pace—what does that mean for the future of technology, venture capital, business, and even our understanding of ourselves? Award-winning journalist and writer Anil Ananthaswamy joins us for our latest episode to discuss his latest book Why Machines Learn: The Elegant Math Behind Modern AI . Anil helps us explore the journey and many breakthroughs that have propelled machine learning from simple perceptrons to the sophisticated algorithms shaping today’s AI revolution, powering GPT and other models. The discussion aims to demystify some of the underlying mathematical concepts that power modern machine learning, to help everyone grasp this technology impacting our lives–even if your last math class was in high school. Anil walks us through the power of scaling laws, the shift from training to inference optimization, and the debate among AI’s pioneers about the road to AGI—should we be concerned, or are we still missing key pieces of the puzzle? The conversation also delves into AI’s philosophical implications—could understanding how machines learn help us better understand ourselves? And what challenges remain before AI systems can truly operate with agency? If you enjoy this episode, please subscribe and leave us a review on your favorite podcast platform. I have recorded this set in 2010 before I moved from Lübeck to Hamburg. This was one of my promotional Dj mixes that I have sent to several promoters in Hamburg which has lead into playing on some very nice parties at some wellknown venues in Hamburg. It contains more driving and darker Dnb and Neurofunk tunes than the last "Lost Tapes " mixes, but still with a deeper touch. 100 % Vinylsound as usual for me at that time. Enjoy listening and tell your friends to do so! TRACKLIST: 1. Fierce & Fresh - Innocence (Hive RMX) 2. Silent Witness & Break - Kontroller 3. Mindscape - Shoot First (feat. BTK) 4. Audio & Future Signal - Furyen 5. Gridlok - Fade Out 6. Total Science & S.P.Y. - Legion 7. Neonlight & Hedj - System Error 8. Morebeat & Rido - Icarus Project 9. Dj Hidden - Empty Streets (revisited) 10. Dom & Roland - Jedi 11. Heist - Nature Of The Sith 12. Loxy & Resound - Psychology Moves 13. Phace & Misanthrop - Non Human 14. Sidechain - Grotesque 15. I recorded this last set of four for a Radioshow I did in 2012. Big up to Fnoob Techno for giving me the opportunity to do my own show on their Drum & Bass channel. Unfortunately I had to stop doing the show as I started diving deeper into music production at that time. The show was for the more deeper and liquid side of Drum & Bass, I mixed freestyle with vinyl, so there is no tracklist. I still have plenty of nice classic sets (also different Dnb styles) from back in the days on my Hardrive nobody knows, watch this space!…
