Greg Mack came to Los Angeles in 1983 during the early years of Hip-Hop in Los Angeles and worked with several ground breaking artists during the beginnings of their career. Greg was the first DJ to play Toddy Tee's 1985 hit song, the Batter Ram, he had Dr. Dre and DJ Yella play mixes on Saturday nights in 1984, he presented Eazy-E's first song to the world and launched the career of many rappers. On episode 6, Alex Alonso travels to Bryan, Texas to meet up with Walter Watson, who grew up in South Los Angeles and became a member of Slauson Village, one of the most know Black gangs during the 1950s and 60s. After witnessing the Watts Riots of 1965 he is sent to prison, where he becomes involved in the revolutionary prison movement meeting people like Hugo "Yogi" Pinnell, Ruchell Magee and George Jackson. After prison guards killed three black inmates in January of 1970, WL Nolan, Cleveland Edwards and Alvin Miller, it kicked off a chain of events that would see several people killed including a shootout at San Marin Court House, the killing of prison guards John Mills and William Shull, then a huge prison riot in San Quentin Prison by George Jackson where he would die. Walter Watson was charged in the murder in William Shull with 6 other inmates known as the Soledad 7. He also became a member of the Black Guerrilla Family, a prison gang. On episode 4, Alex Alonso sits down with Leroy "Chico" Brown who grew up in Compton, California, specifically Corner Poccet Crip hood. Chico talks about getting shot at 12 years old, the killing of Orlando Anderson which occurred between the Michael and Jerry Stone of Poccet Hood and how he started small time hustling with marijuana to buying kilos of cocaine with Freeway Ricky Ross. He would eventually land in prison along with Ross when they got entrapped to buy cocaine from a Nicaraguan cocaine trafficker Oscar Danilo Blandon in 1995. Chico also talks about Gary Webb, who linked his case to the CIA in his book, "Dark Alliance" and he believes that Webb did not commit suicide. When Martin was serving prison time in the early 1990s he linked with a contact to David "Popeye" Barron from San Diego's Barrio Logan. Popeye was connected to the Arrellano-Felix cartel since 1990 and by 1992 held a high position in the organization.
