A young man went hunting. There he saw a young, beautiful girl. He was mesmerized by her beauty. The young man and the girl looked at each other. They fell in love at once. When it became dark, they parted. On his way home, the young man reminisces his meeting with the young girl and recalls every aspect of her beauty. They meet a few times again. The girl’s mother suspects that her daughter might be in love with someone. So, she tells her daughter not to leave home. So, the young man is unable to meet his beloved. Human beings are capable of loving other human beings and establishing social relationships with them. When people see a person showing love towards others, even those who are not associated with him would like to develop his friendship. Valluvar is of the opinion that one should develop friendships with people only after carefully analyzing their character. No matter how much analysis is done, sometimes, one cannot find out the true nature of others. Only after moving for a while, can one know the true character of his friends. Once one knows that a friend does not have desirable qualities, Valluvar calls friendship with him as bad friendship. If possible, one should withdraw from or terminate such friendships. In some situations, enemies may pretend to be friends. Valluvar calls it undesirable friendship because there is no unity in the heart. In such cases, one should pretend like friends and end the friendship with such people. Just as individuals need friendship, nations also need friendships with other nations. ஒருவன் தன் வாழ்க்கையில் வெற்றிபெற வேண்டும் என்று கருதினால், ஏதாவது ஒன்றை அடைய வேண்டும் என்று விரும்ப வேண்டும். அது அவனுடைய இலட்சியம் அல்லது கனவு. அவன் அந்த இலட்சியத்தை அடைந்தால் - அவனுடைய கனவு நனவானால் – அவன் வெற்றி அடைந்தவனாகக் கருதப்படுவான். ஒருவனுடைய இலட்சியம் எவ்வளவு உயர்ந்ததாக இருக்கிறதோ அந்த அளவுக்கு அவனுடைய வெற்றியும் உயர்ந்ததாக இருக்கும் என்று வள்ளுவர் கூறுகிறார். அவன் தன்னுடைய இலட்சியத்தை அடைவதற்கு என்னென்ன செயல்களைச் செய்ய வேண்டும் என்று முடிவு செய்ய வேண்டும். செய்ய வேண்டிய செயல்களைத் தீர்மானித்த பிறகு, அந்தச் செயல்களை எப்படிச் செய்ய வேண்டும் என்று திட்டமிட வேண்டும். திட்டமிடும்பொழுது, பொருள், கருவி, செயல், காலம், இடம் ஆகிய ஐந்தையும் கருத்தில் கொண்டு திட்டமிட வேண்டும். திட்டமிட்ட பிறகு, விடாமுயற்சியோடு அந்தத் திட்டத்தைச் செயல்படுத்த வேண்டும். திட்டங்களைச் செயல்படுத்தும்பொழுது, இடையூறுகள் வரலாம். அந்த இடையூறுகளைக் கண்டு மனம் தளராமல் உழைக்க வேண்டும். உயர்ந்த இலட்சியம், இலட்சியத்தை அடைவதற்கான செயல்களைப் பற்றிய தெளிந்த சிந்தனை, சரியான திட்டம், விடாமுயற்சியுடன் கூடிய கடின உழைப்பு ஆகியவை அனைத்தும் இருந்தால் வெற்றி பெறுவதற்கான வாய்ப்புகள் மிகவும் அதிகம். If one wants to succeed in one's life, one must want to achieve something. What he wants to achieve is his dream or vision. If his dream comes true, then he will be considered to have completed his vision. Valluvar says that the higher one's vision, the higher will be one's success. One must decide what actions he must take to achieve his vision. After determining what actions to take, he needs to plan how to do those actions. When planning, he should consider the resources, tools, action, time, and space into consideration. Once the planning process is complete, he should diligently implement the plan. When implementing projects, interruptions can occur. One must work tirelessly to win over those obstacles.
