WE ARE BACKKKKK!!! Your faves are back after the new year break and we podding away in 2025!! It's the final episode for the year y'all!!! We couldn't be more excited than to close out the year 2024 with the most anticipated movie of the quarter, Gladiator II directed by Ridley Scott. We start off the episode (2:41) in our crazy fashion with Eminem's "Till I Collapse" amid the warrior theme of the episode. We catch up for a bit and recap how we both spent Christmas (8:12) this past week, and then Naomie poses the question of the week (14:11), asking if we would have been warriors in the medieval era which somehow spirals into a conversation about modern day patriarchy. On the main portion of the show (32:15), we deep dive into the movie Gladiator II which tells the story of Maximus' lost son Hanno (Paul Mescal) who rather serendipitously becomes a captive of Roman conquest led by General Accacius (Pedro Pascal). Under the control of the gladiator mastermind Macrinus (Denzel Washington), Hanno would go on to win every fight in the Collesium and become his undisputed champion unbeknownst to him he was harboring a Roman princie a true heir to the throne. This week, your faves are back in the studio feeling Christmasyyyyy!!! We discussing our fondest memories of Christmas and what the season means to us now as adults compared when we were kids.
