On Wednesday nights, Trinity Lutheran Church (Herrin, IL) offers to both children and adults an opportunity for teaching with Learn-by-Heart at 6:30 PM and a catechetical service at 7:00 PM. This service is designed to prepare God’s people for the theme of the upcoming Sunday Divine Service. The dialog sermon explains "The Ten Virgins" (St. Matthew 25:1-13), which is the Holy Gospel for the Last Sunday in the Church Year (Trinity 27). Learn-by-Heart will include “The Bridegroom Soon Will Call Us” (The Augustana Service Book and Hymnal #65, LW 176, TLH 67), Small Catechism, Lord’s Prayer, Fifth Petition and meaning, and 1 Thessalonians 5:8. --Michael D.
