This week I have the honour of chatting with the multi-award winning and celebrated West End and Broadway Choreographer and Director, Mr Stephen Mear.
From his early days growing up in Loughborough where boys didn't move to London to follow a career in dance, to his college training days at the London Studio Centre where ballet initially was his worst genre, we chat about the numerous productions Stephen has had the joy of working both in and on - many while studying at college at the same time.
He talks about the early days of struggling with dyslexia and how a few negative words from his Maths teacher spurred him on and made him even more determined to achieve his dreams.
With a CBE, multiple Olivier Awards and numerous award nominations, we chat about the importance of recognition as well as a good college training.
We touch on the five shows he had cancelled at the beginning of the pandemic and why a certain number in Mary Poppins is rather special to him and his partner of 17 years.
And we find out why discipline, networking, attitude and kindness go a long way, hand-in-hand with talent.
Grab your earphones and enjoy!
