After the High Priestly Prayer, Jesus and His disciples cross over to the Garden Gethsemane. It is here that we see an agonizing time of prayer for Jesus as He prepares to drink the cup that the Father has given Him. After this time of prayer, he awakens His disciples and tells them that the betrayer is at hand. This week, Jesus is betrayed and arrested. As we explore this passage, we also compare the actions of Jesus in the garden to the actions of Adam in the garden of Eden. We see Jesus' purposeful coming forward to his captors, His declaration of His identity, His calling for release of others, and His resolution to fulfill His Father's will.
