×Mike recounts his late-season buck. Even in this moment of victory, we get to bask in the sheer stupidity of both hosts.
As the whitetail season draws to a close, Mike and Luke talk trout! Yeah, we lose focus on things.
Luke bags an exotic that Mike literally has to look up on the internet.
Mike is actually excited about the prospect of fishing for once. Blinds get overturned. Luke reminds he is actually a chef.
Luke is back! After a few days hunting pronghorn in the plains of Wyoming, Luke returns with stories of gourmet camp food and just how fast these critters are.
Mike is conflicted. Is whitetail hunting boring? Are the best hunts the hardest hunts? Is he a middle aged woman from the midwest?
Early season updates, old man weather chat, and antelope speeds.
Mike is contemplating buying a tract of land for hunting and recreation. In typical C&H fashion, the boys talk at length about what they don't know.
Luke and Mike have been looking for the supposed record numbers of doves that are expected in Texas this season, but they aren't seeing much. We also talk favorite ways to clean and serve these tasty little flyers.
Dove season has opened with less than a bang in Texas. Numbers are high, but results are low. So, instead of commiserating, Luke and Mike end up talking about video games and archery deer season.
Hunting season is rapidly approaching. Luke and Mike run down all their big plans and how they think are prepared for them, but in reality they probably aren't. Also, a toddler makes all of this far more entertaining.
Mike gets lucky and is drawn for a very limited archery deer hunt close to home. Luke wasn't. There is plenty more to talk about in this episode, but that should be your takeaway: Luke didn't get picked.
Luke had the pleasure of catching fish in the Gulf of Mexico on a guided trip. We discuss how having a guide that is interested in teaching makes a big difference, how redfish fight harder than you think, and that apparently some people don't eat every second they are awake.
Luke and Mike catch up on all their hunting and fishing exploits of the past month, and talk a little about plans for the future. Luke is also happy and that annoys Mike.
Luke and Mike decide to catch up by shooting some arrows and insulting each other subtly.
The fellas discuss food-borne illnesses and food safety. Where is the greater risk: game animals, or the butcher shop at the grocery store?
Luke and Mike explore the concept of guided hunting and fishing, and whether or not they believe it is worth the investment for newer hunters.
While the boys are seeing clear improvements in their small game skills, they still walk away empty handed. Also they meet a friend in a creek bed and things go south.
In an attempt to shamelessly farm the knowledge of people smarter than us them, Luke and Mike hold a “Reverse Q&A” session. We come up with the questions, and we put them to you, the listener! Mike recounts his first dove hunt of the season, the boys make their first trip out to Lake Georgetown to hunt small game , and there is waxing philosophical about the Texas Wilderness.
As a thought exercise, two new-ish hunters try to see into the future and see what their gear lists need to be for the coming season. Hilarity is sure to ensue a few weeks from now when Luke and Mike get to see how wrong they were about what they need.
Mike doesn’t know anything about fishing. As a co-host of a Hunting & Fishing podcast, this is unacceptable, so Luke takes him to school.
The Camo & Hooks boys discuss how to introduce hunting to their kids. How do we handle the prospect of sheltered, suburban kids seeing death up close and personal?
Luke & Mike introduce the concept of Camo & Hooks, and lay out our not-so-impressive resumes in hunting and fishing.
Luke gets the chance to be the butt of the joke. The spawn is supposed to be high time for anglers to pull in a lot fish, but the ones Luke is after didn't seem to get the memo.
The boys both have out of town hunting trips coming up in this spring. What in the world do you do to prepare?

Camo and Hooks

In keeping with his promise to keep an open mind about the myriad ways to hunt, Mike is going to go rifle shopping. Luke is not only willing to help, but willing to make hilarious content out of Mike's indecisiveness. So, in essence: Welcome to the show.
With deer season firmly in the rear view mirror, the boys look for ways to keep hunting. Mike comes to grips with why he chose to hunt in the first place. Luke takes great joy in humiliating Mike.
If only out of habit, Mike gets testy with Luke’s liberal use of French culinary terminology. After that’s sorted, the boys dive into the ethical landscape of hunting, and the emphasis on the kill that seems to pervade social media with regards to hunting.
Did we actually need that stuff we talked about way back in Episode 4? Find out in this episode, and also find out if Luke should start doing the intro.
Mike actually got to shoot his bow…AT A DEER. Consider this a cliffhanger after the ellipsis…
We have a successful hunt to talk about! This is uncharted territory, so hold on tight.
The boys break down the differences between shooting a rifle and shooting a bow. One thing they agree on: The rifle should be louder, ideally.
Chinese microphone stands, more success from some idiot named Greg, and fleshlights for hunters.
The boys from Camo & Hooks link up with Professional Highland Games Athlete and multiple-world-record-holder Spencer Tyler to talk about whitetail hunting, gear whores, and how to scare away bucks.
The hits keep on…almost coming. The season is in full swing now, and the boys continue to rack up stories. But, are they racking up meat for the freezer?
Luke and Mike have actually gone hunting a few times! Listen to our first forays into the field as Texas bow hunters. We know you are all cheering for the deer, FYI.
Technology is everywhere in hunting and fishing. Everyone has more capability to record their adventures and share their catches than ever before. Are the tall tales being killed? Is the spirit of outdoorsmanship being diminished?
In this episode we tackle some big questions with small brains. Luke and Mike take some time to examine why they chose to dive headfirst into hunting and fishing when they didn’t exactly grow up doing it.
