Recording this episode was an Ordeal.

I’ve survived loads of ordeals though. This one was pretty trivial compared to some of the ordeals I’ve been through in my life. There was that time I got held up at a red light when I really needed to pee. Now that was what I call a true ordeal. It’s Ordeal, written by Tony Barwick and aired on April 14, 1971.

Show-notes:
6:11: For “once” we’re trusting Wikipedia over all other sources for this information.
9:18: Apple was the Beatles’ record company. The Beatles were notoriously protective of their image, so it was difficult to license music from them for use in TV or movies. (Allegedly) all the estates involved in the Beatles (Paul McCartney, Ringo Starr, Olivia Harrison and Yoko Ono) need to sign off on your usage. Here’s a report with some of this information when their music was used in Mad Men.
10:59: You can watch UFO for free. With ads. Very easily. In fact, here’s this episode.
17:22: Gotcha. Also check out our Blake’s 7 podcast, Zenith: A Blake’s 7 Podcast.
27:11: For the 5 millionth week, here’s the shado library timeline.
35:00: I guess since Nope is based on Evangelion and that’s based on this, Nope is basically UFO’s grandchild.
43:30: Yeah so the closest thing I could find to this was postural orthostatic tachycardia syndrome, which isn’t as severe. So yeah idk, and I’m too lazy to keep searching, so this is the best you’re getting.
54:02: Found a video of the Lucky Luke video game for you to relive my childhood with me.
56:07: How many licks does it take to get to the center of a tootsie pop? Also, I’m guessing this is the Cadbury ad Gary Myers was in. Very Prisoneresque in a way.
57:38: Lmao, as if I was going to be not lazy enough to look this up.
