On this first Sunday of Advent, we light the candle of hope and reflect on Psalm 130, which speaks to the depths of human suffering and the hope found in God. The psalmist's desperate plea, 'Out of the depths I cry to you, Lord,' reminds us that God hears our cries and is deeply concerned about our suffering. Confession is crucial for healing, as it brings freedom from guilt and sin. Psalm 130 also emphasizes the importance of waiting and hoping in the Lord, committing our whole being to Him. This Advent season, challenge yourself to cry out to God in your suffering, confess your sins, and commit to the Lord, finding hope in His promises.
